You will not be charged for your meat at the time you place your order online. Once we receive your order, we will pull the beef, weigh it and send you an invoice. You can pay the invoice online or when you stop by the store to pick up your order.
The Fresh Turkeys are raised for Thanksgiving and can be reserved for a $15 deposit. Normal years we will hold a few birds back and have them butchered after the first of the year so we can offer turkey parts during the year. However, there are a few years when we do not have any turkeys to part out and the individual cuts will not be available.
Our chickens are raised in small groups with access to the outside as well as in a barn so they can escape the elements. We try to raise our chickens in the spring and fall where the weather is at a more temperate environment. The middle of summer or winter then to be either way to hot or cold. They have a diet of NON-GMO grains and vitamin minerals, plus the worms and bugs they can find from scratching about in the dirt.
Our Turkeys are started at Vogel Farms as chicks around the first of May. The chicks remain in the hot room until they are mature enough and have feathered to a point where they can tolerate the outside temperature. Once they have reached a size where they will be safe from predators, we move 2/3rds of the turkeys over to Cabalo's farm where they wander among the trees of the Orchard. The others remain at our farm. They are fed the same diet as our chickens - just a lot more of it.
